The BMCHH has treated over 1000,000 patients since it was established in 25th May 2001. It was founded by the former president H.E. Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh and is a joint project with the Department of State for Health and the community of Bundung, the most densely populated area in The Gambia.
The hospital used to known as the Jammeh Foundation For Peace Hospital until it was re-named in May 2017.
